The Challenge

UKFast are currently looking for an established Python Developer to help produce and deliver Security products to our growing client base and be involved in shaping our security vision for the future. Reporting primarily to the Head of Security, you will play a key role in the further development of security products as the department looks to expand in 2021.

Working closely with the wider security team, your role will support in defining a compelling strategy and roadmap to transform UKFast’s Security offering. This is a unique opportunity for the right talented individual to have a truly transformative impact on our business, with end-to-end ownership from product conception to delivery and ongoing optimisation.

Your role will be to expand UKFast’s existing security products; developing a deeper understanding of customer personas, products, and competitors. Using your initiative to crack challenging problems with elegant solutions at pace, will become part of your every day. You will be responsible for developing security software and integrating features into existing applications and you will work to produce security tools that provide intrusion detection, automated incident response playbooks, implementing rulesets, traffic analysis, virus and malware detection.

  • Lead role in software design 
  • Implementation and testing of IT Security related applications and tools. 
  • Creating new software systems  
  • Use of agile methodologies, in the full software project lifecycle. 
  • Prototyping of new solutions using programming techniques that incorporate the most secure programming practices. 
  • Project documentation 
  • Deployment and on-going support of UKFast Security Products 
  • Designing software solutions based on UKFast security requirements 
  • Implementing and testing of IT Security 


Essential Skills:

  • A passion for cyber security, prominent threats and remediations.
  • Up to date understanding of programming languages Python and/or Go. 
  • Practical experience of using operating systems MS windows & Linux distribution.
  • An analytical mind.
  • Experience with RUST or similar programming languages, such as, C is desirable.
