The licence manager will form a pivotal touch point in the business working across internal teams, customers and our suppliers to ensure we comply with our license agreements and that we are using our software estate effectively.
A successful candidate in this role will work with the business to improve licence monitoring, compliance and coordinate with external vendors updating the internal business as required. They will manage vendor licence audits and act as an escalation point for licence queries from across the business.
What you will do
Tracking, recording and maintaining license usage across the business for internal facing systems, customer platforms and 3rd party SaaS platforms.
Working with various teams to ensure our systems are licensed in accordance with supplier agreements, documenting any non-compliance and then planning and executing any remedial work required.
Producing monthly reports and analysis on our overall license usage including showing trends by vendor and product.
Maintaining our Approved Software Register in conjunction with our compliance & Internal support team
Providing training and documentation to the wider business in the costing, licensing methods and options available.
Proactively communicating and futureproofing our licensing capabilities ensuing UKFast can grow
Understanding and maintaining records of Product Use Rights and Terms and Conditions for software.
Collaborating with product stakeholders to document and continually improve SAM processes taking overall ownership
Working with our internal legal team to ensure our customer terms and conditions are kept in line with changes to supplier terms.
Proactively working with product teams to manage any price changes from vendors which will directly impact customers.
Actively involved with our partners and vendors to understand license changes, the impact of these on customers, plan and execute a communication plan to update relevant stakeholders and customers.
What will you bring
Experience of implementing and developing an asset management system
Broad knowledge of software licensing (including experience in some of the following: Citrix, Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, VMware, Office 365 and other Microsoft based products)
Experience working with external software vendors.
Implementation experience of Software Asset Management and Discovery Tools for tracking, reporting, compliance auditing.
An understanding of basic legal terms to assist with interpreting software licensing terms and conditions.
Experience with understanding Internal User rights available through partnerships.
Having both SAM and ITIL accreditations would be beneficial.
Great communication skills, both verbal and written to help with cross team communication and communication out to customers.
The ability to self-manage and project manage other teams.
