We are dedicated to our customers, to the ongoing training, development, and support of our team, and to making it fun every day. Our in-house training facility is widely accredited – e.g. we are the only managed service provider in the UK to also be an accredited AWS training centre.
The Opportunity
At UKFast we design and build thousands of technical solutions every year for businesses operating in industries from e-commerce through to the Public Sector, all seeking new and innovative ways of hosting their IT solutions. Our Solution Architects play a key role in devising how best to make this happen and the team work closely with both the technical and sales teams to ensure UKFast customers get everything they need.
We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to join us as we embark on a major change programme to enhance our existing proposition, build our Public/Hybrid Cloud offer, and refocus on targeting the most attractive customer segments.
Working with AWS requirements, you will operate as the Lead Architect for new and existing customer solutions, where Amazon Web Services is the cloud platform of choice. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with customers during the professional services phase to understand the existing technical and business challenges faced. Then interpreting these into a design which addresses these challenges head on and offers the customer a solution to overcome these challenges using the suite of products and services available via UKFast and AWS.
You will have an in-depth understanding of AWS, with first-hand experience of using a broad range of the products and services available. With solid technical knowledge and a sound operational background, you will be able to readily establish the best possible mix of services required to deliver the right solution for the customer. Once a design has been established you should be able to clearly present and justify your solution to a variety of customers and colleagues, regardless of their technical knowledge.
You should be commercially minded and comfortable conversing on both a technical and non-technical level with customers, choosing the level of engagement for the audience. This must include the ability to talk confidently about the products and services available and the commercial implications. You will be working across a range of private and public sector verticals. Previous experience in regulated industries (such as government and finance) is a benefit, but it is not a requirement.
