UKFast.Net expands through record demand

New recruits are put through their paces

UKFast.Net Ltd continues a period of careful expansion increasing its team of account handlers by a third. The move follows a series of awards and a successful advertising campaign that have raised demand for the Manchester based ISP's Internet solutions to an unprecedented level.

With recent recruitment in Support and Creative departments, this new wave also takes into account the customer focus of the company. MD Lawrence Jones is employing professionals with proven experience in the service industry as well as excellent organisation skills. And is keen to stress the difference between Account Handlers and Sales people.

“We're employing Account Handlers not ‘cold callers'” explains Jones. “The core skills our front line staff need are in customer care. We're not struggling to attract clients and by concentrating our skills on perfecting relations with them, we never struggle to keep them.”

When employing new staff, Jones believes in searching out local talent. “The North West is full of extraordinary people with strong business acumen. We work closely with Pareto Law to find the brightest young professionals the region can offer. It's important to invest in our own community and directly boost the prosperity of the region.”

In true UKFast tradition, the new recruits met the rest of the team in a novel way. “This time they were eased into the mix,” laughs Jones. “I had them join us for the 2005 UKFast Daytona Grand Prix. We'll let them settle in a little before we plan the next trip up Snowdon!”
