Jason Robinson has been appointed to lead the England rugby team into battle at Twickenham after being named Captain for Saturday's Test against Canada. The Sale Sharks skipper takes over from an injured Johnny Wilkinson, after impressing England coaches with his strength and determination on the pitch. The 22-man England squad includes five Sharks players, with team-mate Charlie Hodgson taking Wilkinson's place at fly half.
But despite the world cup medal on display at his Cheshire home, when it comes to the power and speed of the Internet, Robinson relies on official club sponsor UKFast to deliver.
Jason Robinson explains: “I have shopped around for many different broadband providers recently, but none of them can service my online needs. I was told to have broadband enabled by next year by which time I won't hesitate to go with UKFast. Their customer service is professional and responsive, their products cutting-edge, plus I maintain a good, personal relationship with their Managing Director Lawrence Jones, who is a loyal Sharks supporter.”
Lawrence Jones, managing Director of UKFast says: “I'm a keen rugby player myself and I'm incredibly proud to have Jason Robinson and Charlie Hodgson in our camp. Jason incorporates speed, a youthful dynamism and his image represents everything UKFast stands for. Both he and UKFast have a golden future to look forward to”
The Manchester-based ISP also host and maintains the official Sale Shark web site, which has experienced tremendous feedback from fans, as well as the general public, since its launch in September 2004.
Seventy per cent of all tickets are now sold on-line, with traffic to the web site increasing to 100,000 visitors a week.
Jones adds: “As an Internet Service Provider, we have all the necessary technologies, skills and bandwidth capacities to host huge numbers of traffic, so hosting and designing the official Sale Shark web site seemed the obvious thing to do.”
