UKFast to podcast the Manchester Jazz Festival
Article date: Wed, 14 Jun 2006 10:30 GMTManchester Jazz Festival is teaming up with UKFast to produce a series of special podcasts adding extra value to this year's festival running from 22-29 July. The podcasts, to be available on www.manchesterjazz.com and www.ukfast.net will include a series by UKFast reporting from a mobile studio throughout the festival. The UKFast Podcasting Studio will travel from stage to stage interviewing both musicians and crowds providing a snapshot for those unable to join the festivities. They will be available for download during the eight day celebration with information on where listeners can hear the featured bands again. Steve Mead, artistic director of the festival is always looking for ways to reach out within and beyond the region. "There's fantastic talent within the North West and Manchester showcases the very best in July every year. This year we are looking to build on a solid reputation by offering a great online guide that allows more people to enjoy the music and encourages new visitors to join us." Lawrence Jones, managing director of UKFast sees the project as a true community builder. "As the North West's top hosting provider, it's our job to encourage invigorating online communities. Jazz is one musical form that is beginning to use the Web to really promote itself and we're thrilled to be collaborating in ventures that remind the region of its talent and spirit." Now in its eleventh year, the Manchester Jazz Festival serves up eight days of summer music, from regional, national and international musicians. Venues include the RNCM, The Bridgewater Hall, Matt and Phred's Jazz Club and Manchester's Albert Sq and St Anne's Sq. You can find UKFast's podcasts from Internet World earlier this year on the UKFast Podcast page.
