UKFast Supports Developer Community at PHP North West
Article date: Fri, 17 Aug 2012 09:16 GMTManchester hosting firm UKFast is showing its support for Manchester's burgeoning web development community by sponsoring the North West's premier programming conference, PHPNW12. The technology company has signed up as a platinum sponsor of the three-day event in a bid to encourage more support from the hosting community to develop existing web talent in the region. The event, which brings together PHP enthusiasts from a worldwide talent pool, is in its fourth year and is set to attract more members of the PHP development community than ever before. Lawrence Jones, CEO of the hosting firm said: "The North West is a digitally exciting place and a lot of this is down to the amazing programming talent within the region. However, the web development sector isn't receiving enough support from the hosting community to provide the best testing environments that developers need. "We are going to PHPNW12 to build relationships within the community and offer the very best in test environments that developers need, because we want to put Manchester back on the map as a hub for digital progress." PHP is acknowledged as the most widely used programming language on the web, used by over 5 million developers and accounting for 40 per cent of existing web applications. PHPNW12 runs from Friday 5 October to Sunday 7 October. UKFast will also be providing free server space for the pre-conference Hackathon on 5 October.
