UKFast Named Top Workplace in Manchester

Cloud and colocation firm UKFast is officially Manchester’s best place to work, after being named the fifth best workplace in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For.
The people-focussed business has become renowned in the city for its extraordinary office space, UKFast Campus, on the edge of Manchester’s Science Park which has an onsite gym, steam room, crèche and dedicated training and education space.
CEO Lawrence Jones MBE said: “To be the No.1 Sunday Times Best Company to Work For in Manchester is tremendous.
“Our previous best position has been 25 so to climb to number five in the whole of the UK is a fabulous achievement for the whole team at UKFast.
“The culture at UKFast is unique and it's created by the team themselves, taking ownership by setting up running clubs, netball, and football clubs. It's a place where people work out doing gym classes together run by fellow colleagues; an environment where all the departments interact and value each other.”
Despite scooping the award and featuring in the Best Companies list for six years, Jones says that there is more to come from the fast-growing tech firm.
“It's work in progress too and I believe there is a lot we can learn to continue to build and improve every aspect of the business.
“The Best Companies accreditation is more than just another award. The company provides invaluable data which helps us identify what we are doing well and where we need to improve. I have no doubt Jonathan Austin's company Best Companies is a catalyst in helping us improve and achieve great things.”
Jones is also calling on other businesses to see the link between an engaged workforce and a thriving company. He said: “I am hoping more business owners will follow suit and realise a happy workforce creates a strong, profitable company and a happy team provides better customer service. That's why we work so hard to ensure our team work in a world-class and award-winning work environment that rivals the likes of Google.
“If there are any sceptics out there our results speak volumes, we have an industry leading Net Promoter Score, more than 40 times the sector average and we are continuing to grow as a profitable company.”
UKFast recently announced a recruitment drive for apprentices, as well as vacancies across the business. Applications can be submitted via our careers page.
