UKFast Named Manchester Business of the Year
Article date: Thu, 06 Nov 2014 14:44 GMTHosting and colocation firm UKFast has been named as Manchester's Business of the Year at the prestigious Manchester Evening News Business Awards. Taking the title in the £10-25m category, UKFast beat other finalists CarLoans4U, Lancashire County Cricket Club and Media Agency Group. CEO Lawrence Jones said: "Back in 2008 we won this award for the lower turnover category and it is absolutely astonishing to see how far we have come since then. Now we are in our new campus, which is fast becoming a landmark on the Princess Parkway, and we are breaking records consistently. "It is a real testament to the whole UKFast team; there is no other team like them." This year has seen UKFast launch its first 'drag and drop' UK-based storage solution, eCloud Vault, to rival those of international providers and has seen 2013's product launch, eCloud, generate more than 18% of the firm's total revenue. Jones added: "We have huge plans for the next year, as usual. We are committed to providing the best support and service for our clients. We don't just want to be part of the hosting industry; we want to lead it." UKFast reported record revenues of £23m in 2013 and is now setting its sights on the £30m turnover mark. So far this year the firm has committed £4.5m to training, which has seen Jones speak at the House of Commons as an exemplary apprenticeship provider.
