Manchester-based hosting company UKFast has been named as finalist in two categories of this year's National Business Awards, in association with Orange.
UKFast is a finalist for the Croner Employer of the Year while MD Lawrence Jones is up for the Entrepreneur of the Year category. They join more than 150 of the country's most innovative and sustainable businesses shortlisted for the prestigious awards.
Jones says: "We are extremely proud to be shortlisted for not only one, but two of the country's most prestigious business awards. It is fantastic to be named alongside some of the country's greatest businesses and entrepreneurs.
"It is a shame, however, to see that only 11 out of the 160 finalists are from the North West as it is a fantastic region for innovative business."
Baroness Bottomley, chair of judge at the National Business Awards, described the quality of this year's finalists as particularly encouraging in light of the economic climate.
She said: "Congratulations to all finalists for demonstrating tremendous strength in their ability to adapt and innovate, which no doubt reflects the resilience and optimism that are hallmarks of UK enterprise."
Finalists will now present to a Dragon's Den style judging panel before winners of the awards are announced at a ceremony later this year.
