LPI-Accredited Training Provider

Hosting and colocation firm UKFast has been named as the only provider of LPI-accredited Linux training in the North of England, thanks to its ongoing work with the Linux Professional Institute UK (LPI UK).

The Manchester-based firm is now an LPI Approved Training Partner and able to provide accredited Linux training and exams to schools, colleges and its own team, as an approved Pearson VUE test centre.

UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones said: "Whilst it's a fantastic achievement for our team to have recently been named as one of the country's most qualified Linux LPIC teams in the country, thanks to the training we have provided at our training facility; we are now taking that to the next level and playing a key role in a global community to drive and innovate open source technologies and training.

"With accredited facilities like these, we are focussed on creating the next generation of technical pioneers as well as continually developing the knowledge of our own technical teams - equipping them with the cutting-edge skills to support our clients."

The Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) was the first IT certification to be professionally accredited by the NCCA.

Bill Quinn, CEO of LPI UK and Ireland said: "UKFast has recognised the need for having fully-certified Linux engineers to be able to deliver a higher quality of service to its customers. Since the very beginning, it has been apparent that the company is committed to training - whether that's with new apprentices, or existing employees.

"UKFast acts as a lighthouse in the IT industry, showing young men and women how Linux works in a real environment, and what the benefits of being a certified employee are. To me, it's fantastic to see so many young people making such a progression through the LPIC, and demonstrating the skills they've learnt with such flair.

"UKFast embraces young people, training, and most importantly, Linux. While this will drive the business forward, that passion is ultimately driven by customer focus, which is what sets UKFast apart."

Earlier this year, UKFast announced a £4.5m commitment to training and education with the development of dedicated facility and training team of former school teachers.
