UKFast batting for Cheshire Cricket League

Manchester-based cloud computing provider UKFast has been revealed as the new sponsor of the Cheshire Cricket League in a 10-year deal worth £50,000 which also sees the firm boosting tech use by member clubs and the league.

UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones MBE is a keen sportsman who has played for and supported his local club, Hale Barns CC for many years. UKFast's commitment to the long-term deal also sets them up to support with hosting, re-launching and re-branding the league's website.

He said: "I have supported cricket in Cheshire for quite some time so when I was recently made aware of the league's previous sponsor dropping out I knew I had to get involved. I am delighted to agree such a long-term deal and help keep the game of cricket thriving in the region.

"Sport and technology make an extraordinary partnership and I'm looking forward to developing ways to increase the use of technology within the league to save players, volunteers and administrators time - time that they could be spending enjoying the game. We have an incredible team at UKFast and we will make every effort to help move the game forward."

The Cheshire Cricket League is part of the Cheshire Integrated League System and provides cricket for 56 clubs and 96 teams from all over Cheshire, the Wirral and Greater Manchester.

League chairman Graham Coull is delighted to welcome UKFast as a new sponsor, he said: "With the ongoing restructure of Cheshire cricket it is perfect timing that UKFast has agreed to be our sponsor. Being able to agree such a long-term deal ensures we can continue to grow the game in the North West. I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship between the two organisations."

Lawrence Jones has been involved in sports in the region for many years, being a main sponsor of the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation, and has even built a fully-equipped gym at UKFast campus in Manchester for staff to use in spare time.
