UKFast Appoints Jonathan Bowers as Acting MD

Entrepreneur and founder of Manchester hosting company UKFast, Lawrence Jones, is to hand over the day-to-day running of the business to focus on the company's expansion.
Jones has appointed the company's communications director, Jonathan Bowers, as acting managing director, whilst he takes on the role of chief executive, a decision taken upon the advice of Richard Branson.
Jones, who has become close with the Virgin entrepreneur, explained that Branson urged him to appoint a right hand man at UKFast.
Jones said: "Whilst I could continue and manage, UKFast is not about 'managing', it's about breaking records, playing to your highest standard and trying your very best, whether you are on the UKFast netball team or whether you are fighting to inspire new clients, it's about raising the bar every day of our lives.
"There is a need for strategic development, especially with the progression of our new data centre facilities. UKFast provides a perfect platform from where we are able to design and launch a number of exciting businesses.
"I am hoping the shoes fit perfectly as Jonathan embodies UKFast's core values to the letter."
The reshuffle comes a month after the hosting company acquired three new sites for data centre facilities in the Trafford Park area.
Bowers said: "We've enjoyed great growth over the last few years and it is a natural progression to improve the company structure and allow Lawrence a more strategic viewpoint. While he has more freedom to offer his attention to a set of new projects, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to increase my involvement in the success of the business."
