The finalists have now been announced for the National 2010 Digital Entrepreneur Awards.
With only 5% of entrants making it through to the final selection, top businesses from across the UK are now celebrating their progression to the next stage of the competition. Finalists include Ernst and Young, dating site global personal and top London restaurant Pied a Terre to name but a few.
The winners of all fifteen awards will be announced at the sparkling ceremony on 1st December at the Palace Hotel in Manchester and will recognise the top entrepreneurs in four key online sectors: design and technology, sustaining society, e-services and the heavily contested business category.
The Digital Entrepreneur Awards also welcome James Timpson as this year's after dinner speaker who will be providing invaluable business advice to all budding digital pioneers about how to take a company from good to great.
As one of last year's winners Michael Wilkinson of i-education says, "The glittering Digital Entrepreneur of the Year Awards allowed us to celebrate the exponential growth of our company. It has been a real motivator for the staff as well, and has rewarded them for their hard work."
As managing director of UKFast, the main sponsor of this year's awards, Lawrence Jones is excited to reward such outstanding companies. "We have seen a phenomenal response to this year's awards and believe there have actually been a record number of entries for all categories! We cannot wait to celebrate in style with these pioneering entrepreneurs at the big event on 1st December."
The entries have also uncovered a number of trends, in particular the mainstream emergence of mobile-commerce in the coming year. "This year's awards seem set to bring together the innovators and entrepreneurs who are going to change the face of the net as we know it in the next twelve months," says Jones.
Last year's event saw the Sale Sharks Rugby team handing out the awards to winners and the judges have promised something equally as exciting for next month's celebration.
