The Digital Entrepreneur Awards today announced Head of Tech North, Claire Braithwaite, as keynote speaker for the upcoming awards ceremony on November 11th in Manchester.
The awards champion the country's finest digital entrepreneurs and businesses. This year's ceremony at the Palace Hotel is set to be the biggest and best in the awards' 11 year history, with honours to be awarded across 16 categories including eCommerce Business of the Year, Software Innovation of the Year and, of course, the coveted Digital Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The Lad Bible, the BBC and digital marketing agency Amaze are among the finalists for this year's awards. Other finalists include Chester Zoo and Chester-based digital agency Clicky Media.
Building on her own experience as founder of an ecommerce start-up, growing it to be the largest online retailer in its sector in Europe, Braithwaite will deliver the ceremony's keynote speech; exploring the critical role of entrepreneurs as creators of prosperity, opportunity and change in the modern world.
Braithwaite commented: "Our digital entrepreneurs are our foremost visionaries, not only bringing their own dreams to life, but in the process changing our world for the better. I am delighted to be delivering the keynote at the DEAs, as we celebrate the nation's very best digital pioneers, industry leaders and emerging talent."
CEO and founder of cloud infrastructure firm and long-term headline sponsor UKFast, Lawrence Jones, has a history of promoting entrepreneurship and digital business in the UK and sees a natural synergy between the DEAs and Tech North.
The entrepreneur said: "It's great to have Claire speaking on the night. Tech North's mission to accelerate the growth of digital in the North reflects the spirit of the DEAs. They are doing an incredible job of promoting digital businesses and creating the right conditions to help them to thrive.
"It's testament to the quality and reputation of the DEAs that Tech North is keen to lend its seal of approval to the awards. Claire has first-hand experience of building a hugely successful eCommerce business, so who better to address our audience of digital entrepreneurs?"
The winners of the Digital Entrepreneur Awards will be announced at a ceremony at The Palace Hotel, Manchester on November the 11th. Previous winners include British Heart Foundation, Lucozade Powerleague and Mothercare.
