UKFast's Charlie Hodgson announced his intention on Tuesday to stay with the Sale Sharks until 2011. The news follows UKFast's own contract with the club that takes the Internet Company's partnership with the Champions to its tenth anniversary.
Rated as one of the best fly half's in the game, Hodgson played a crucial role in the teams rise to the top last season. His decision to commit to the club is great news not only for the team but for Lawrence Jones, UKFast's managing director who has personally sponsored Charlie since he joined the club in 2000.
"It is no surprise to me that Charlie has become one of the nation's favourites," says Jones. "Right back to his Heywood Road days he's showed true flair as a playmaker and his right foot is now amongst the best in the field. Within the coming years I can see Charlie becoming an untouchable Number 10."
Talking to UKFast, Charlie expressed strong feelings for the club that gave him his start and Lawrence Jones' encouragement. "I'm delighted to be staying at Sale Sharks, and hopefully our mutual support for each other will continue over the next few years as well. People do remember UKFast's name whenever I score any points at Edgeley Park!"
It is a year of announcements for Hodgson who has recently become engaged to his long term girlfriend Daisy Hartley. Everyone at UKFast is thrilled to wish Charlie the very best on and off the field.
