Digital Entrepreneur Awards Open for Entries
Article date: Tue, 06 May 2014 11:06 GMTThe UK's only national awards dedicated to internet entrepreneurialism are now open for entries. The Digital Entrepreneur Awards (DEAs) were created to shine the spotlight on the UK's digital frontrunners - from steadfast commercial business leaders, to the technical geniuses working behind the scenes of our ever-changing digital landscape. Previous winners of the awards - which are now in their ninth year - include Better Bathrooms, Manchester City Council, Funky Pigeon and Sainsbury's. Lawrence Jones, CEO of hosting and colocation firm UKFast, the main sponsor of the awards said: "We're excited to once again be able to celebrate digital talent in the UK and to support the up-and-coming entrepreneurs who are really using technology to drive their businesses forward. "UKFast is proud to be the main sponsor of this event. Every year the awards give us the chance to see the extraordinary progress that Britain's technology sector is making and it is so encouraging to see." The categories include the Digital Entrepreneur of the Year, E-Commerce Business of the Year and newly added category, E-Commerce Developer of the Year, which aims to recognise those who play integral roles behind the scenes; the programmers and developers who make e-commerce apps and websites thrive. The categories are split into SME and Large groups, to recognise the different goals and approaches needed for different sizes of company. Following a short online process, entrants will have their applications considered by a panel of esteemed judges, from some of the UK's leading digital and technological businesses. Winners will be announced at a black tie dinner in the autumn. To enter into the Digital Entrepreneur Awards, visit www.digital-entrepreneur.co.uk.
