Cloud Firm Cements Channel Growth Plans with Marketing Hire

Cloud infrastructure provider UKFast demonstrates its commitment to growth in the channel with a fifth significant appointment of the year, hiring vendor marketing star Sophie Cornock.
Having spent five years at cloud firm ANS, and with established links with top vendors including Microsoft and VMware, Cornock adds a new dimension to the hosting provider's marketing team as Channel Marketing Manager, and confirms UKFast's channel push for 2015.
UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones MBE said: "We're at an extraordinary stage of growth at UKFast. Our marketing budget these days is larger than our turnover just a few years ago.
"Adding Sophie to our channel team is an important step in our development in the channel. Whilst we saw Lee Hull - former Virgin Media Business Director - join the team just last month, Sophie brings energy, experience and long-standing relationships with strategic vendors.
"Despite having had no marketing support or a dedicated 'go to' person for the big vendors, we've still managed to become one of Britain's top providers and feature in Microsoft's Top Three in the UK. Hiring Sophie to manage these relationships means that we are already seeing strong results."
UKFast continues to experience extremely strong growth in recent years, recording a three-year profit increase of 46.33 per cent and revenue growing 24 per cent in 2014 to £28.9m.
Cornock said: "No one can ignore UKFast's growth. I used to have to drive past their 60ft screen and incredible office every day. To now be part of their winning formula is a real honour and I am enjoying the pace and freedom to develop already."
Jones added: "The channel is changing and businesses need integration, marketing development, training and events. Whilst we deliver dedicated racks and both private and hybrid clouds the same day, we also provide this extra level of business support.
"Our model works and it is time to roll it out."
UKFast has made several significant appointments so far in 2015, hiring Nicola Frost as Head of Legal, as well as adding new Financial Director Michael Hogan to the board.
