Internet host and cloud specialist UKFast has expanded its board of directors to include R&D Director Darren Taylor, cementing the firm's commitment to leading innovation in the UK.
Taylor, who has been with the company ten years, is promoted from Director of Research & Development to the board, reinforcing UKFast's reputation as one of the most pioneering firms in the region.
UKFast created a dedicated R&D team in 2001, just two years after the company was formed. The Manchester business continues to invest 25% of its turnover into the research and development of new products and processes to streamline in-house operations.
Taylor's appointment is one of many planned for the firm to help manage its growth plans in 2012 and beyond. After opening its first wholly-owned and managed data centre in 2011, the ambitious tech firm is investing heavily in more data centre space that will make UKFast Manchester's largest privately-owned data centre provider and a significant player in the colocation market.
UKFast's founder and CEO Lawrence Jones said: "Our focus on innovation and our investment in the R&D team from the very beginning has allowed us to grow to where we are today. It makes sense to have someone on the board to represent that integral element of UKFast."
