Internet measurement firm comScore has released its report for the best performing websites in the UK in August.

It was followed by Microsoft sites, which had 27.8 million unique visits (down by 0.7 per cent) and reached 83.8 per cent of the audience. eBay was in third place, Yahoo was in fourth and BBC sites rounded out the top five.
Amazon sites made the biggest gain among the top ten best performers, increasing their unique visitor numbers from 12.5 million to 13.2 million, reaching 41.5 per cent of the audience.
Meanwhile, social networking site Facebook was the fastest growing property in the UK, growing by 18.3 per cent over the month to reach almost nine million unique visitors. Since September last year the site has achieved a remarkable 2,167 per cent growth in the UK.Return to marketing news headlines
