Businesses looking to attract consumers to their websites must ensure they provide a "great user experience", it has been suggested.
Leading web design company Fortune Cookie says that online and offline operations should be integrated - particularly in regard to branding - in order to create a professional and streamlined look.
Jason Cooke, the company's managing director, commented: "The way that you can make users advocate to use your site is to create a great user experience - making websites findable, desirable, credible, usable and accessible."
According to a study carried out earlier this year by Which? Holiday, 63 per cent of consumers dislike having to register to use a site, with 19 per cent of people citing website technical problems as their main frustration.
It also emerged that 36 per cent of people dislike it when optional extras are added to purchases by default.
