Government launches online calculator to measure carbon foot
Green conscious consumers will be a able to measure their carbon footprints with a government backed online calculator, created by Euro RSCG's digital agency 4D Digital.
The Act on CO2 Calculator allows the public to measure the size of their carbon footprint -- the amount of CO2 emitted by a person based on their combustion of fossil fuels.
The website is part of the government's attempts to cut carbon emissions among UK households by promoting energy efficient heating, lighting and transport.
Euro RSCG 4D Digital said the carbon calculator, which is one of several already in existence, was more accurate and consistent than other models, and would continue to be developed by encouraging users to give feedback.
The launch is being supported by TV, print and online ads, which will feature on social networking website ads.
Anne Davis, managing director of Euro RSCG 4D Digital, said the agency was the first communications group in the UK to become carbon neutral.
She said the calculator would become a "highly effective web tool that people can return to time and time again."
