Geolocation vendor Quova today launched a new on-demand service designed to make the technology appeal to organisations of all sizes for tasks such as marketing, fraud prevention and compliance.
Quova On Demand will be priced on a per-query basis, and can be used to display information on a company web site which is relevant to a user's geographic location.

For example, a French visitor to a multinational's site would be directed automatically to the French language version.
The Quova technology can also help in fraud prevention by allowing customers to check user IP addresses against billing addresses, according to the company.
"We are trying to open things up and to make it really easy for online businesses of all sizes to get set up with geolocation," said Quova vice president of business development Steve Sawyer.
"Depending on how you use geolocation, it could be as simple as writing a few business rules."
