Internet 'widens possibilities' for graduates
The development of the internet has widened the accessibility of opportunities for graduates looking for employment, it has been claimed.
According to Jayne Rowley, publishing director for Graduate Prospects, the rise of the internet now means that graduates looking to access the full range of opportunities available have "never had it easier".
Moreover, Ms Rowley believes that companies have benefited from the internet, as they are now able to access a more diverse - and larger - pool of potential employers.
"It's not so much the numbers of opportunities that have grown, as much as the accessibility of them," said Ms Rowley.
"The proliferation of job boards and the availability of online application systems mean it's never been easier to see the full range of possibilities open to you."
She also noted that graduate candidates are now in a better position to conduct research on companies before submitting applications for employment.
