Video measuring tool launched by Nielsen/NetRating

Internet research firm Nielsen/NetRatings has launched a new online video measurement service, indicating the growth of video advertising. VideoCensus promises to be "the industry's most accurate online video measurement service", a syndicated product that will combine panel and census research methodologies to illustrate audience size, engagement and other factors. "By harnessing the unique strengths of both panel and Web analytics measurement tools, we have a 'best of breed' service that can be used for planning and post analysis on the internet - something no other information set offers," said NetRatings' Manish Bhatia. The technology uses NetRatings' desktop meter and SiteCensus content-tagging, providing accurate results. The company points out: "Given the array of opportunities for distribution and monetization presented by online video, one of the key marketplace requirements is that content be accurately credited." A recent Nielsen/NetRatings study found that the BBC is the only top ten British website in terms of unique UK visitors. Source: Direct Traffic
