Low-fares airline flyMonarch.com has implemented Google search, in line with a new customer interaction strategy.
The Google customer search function replaces an in-house developed system, meaning improvements to speed, accuracy and context of customer search.
Google's tool was selected as it could be easily bespoked to suit flyMonarch and include partner pages, and for its usability benefits.
E-commerce manager Ian Chambers told Revolution that flyMonarch.com plans to ramp up customer interaction, with more sticky content, and video user testimonials.
The site already carries text reviews from customers, and recently introduced PayPal to reach more people.
"We're constantly developing the site," Chambers explained. "By Q1 of next year we should have an interactive video site set up."
Longer term, flyMonarch.com plans to create an online community, adding tools to aid communication between users.
"Our user base is skewed towards the over 45s market at the market. As their online usage grows, we plan to tap in to that," Chambers confirmed.
