Ask contextual ad network to rival Google & Yahoo products
A new contextual ad network has been launched by Ask.com which it hopes will offer an alternative to Google's AdSense, ClickZ reports.
The system will bolster Ask's search advertising and will initially launch on Match.com, Ticketmaster and other platforms owned by Ask/IAC.
Mid-size publishers can sign up for the system now and smaller web owners will be able to join when a specific platform is designed for them later this year.
"We're going to offer a lot more levers to let publishers manage the monetisation of their sites," said Ask's head of search Marketing products, Paul Vallez.
He explained that the system would be differentiated from those of its competitors because it would be more transparent and user-friendly, allowing publishers to tweak ads on their sites to make the most ad revenue possible.
Besides Ask and Google, Yahoo also provides a contextual ad product called Yahoo Publisher Network.
To monetise your own website, place contextual link ads on high ranking websites.
