The region has become home to the fastest-growing online audience in the world, according to new data released by comScore.
The number of unique users in April totalled 319 million across the region, up 14 per cent from 280 million in the same month last year, according to a report on the Asian internet from the research firm.
China and India are the two fastest-growing markets within the region.
India, which is growing from a low base, saw its unique users figure jump 27 per cent to 28 million.
China, meanwhile, rose 14 per cent to 103 million.
Taiwan, Malaysia and New Zealand also registered double-digit growth.
The more mature online markets of Hong Kong and Singapore grew less quickly, rising 5 per cent (to 3.7 million) and 4 per cent (to 2.3 million), respectively.
China has the region's biggest online audience, followed by Japan on 55 million (up 3 per cent).
Data from comScore also shows that in the search sector, Google and Yahoo! are the top two players.
However, five of the top 10 search engines are locally owned, including China's Baidu and Naver, which is the leading operator in South Korea.
