CIOs Warned To Be Aware Of Insider Threats
A survey has warned that that 23 per cent of UK employees will take customer lists and other sensitive data with them when they leave their employer.
According to research by data security firm Imperva, IT managers are facing an internal threat that is less visible but just as difficult to deal with as external cybercrime threats.
Amichai Shulman, chief technology officer at Imperva said, "Staff are precisely the people who have access to data that needs to be secured and carefully controlled."
He went on to suggest that staff threats are not always malicious, and are often the result of IT teams failing to restrict access to information for individuals after they have left the organisation.
