Following a Freedom of Information request, business process management company Software AG, has today claimed that the public sector is failing to track secure data transfers.
Following Software AG's request for information on the method of secure data transfer in central government departments, the company discovered that 14 out of the 26 organisations asked said that they were unable to provide any information.
Lead technologist at Software AG, Mr Tim Holyoake has spoken out on the subject today, saying, "The public should be very concerned that such limited insight into the procedures and costs surrounding the transfer of sensitive information between organisations is so widespread."
Holyoake went on to say that the only organisation which was able to provide a full and satisfactory answer to the request was the Information Commissioner's Office.
