Online activists in Brazil are threatening to attack the 2014 World Cup websites.
The group, known as Anonymous, have said they will target the official sites for the event.
An activist known as Che Commodore said: "The attacks will be directed against official websites and those of companies sponsoring the cup.
"It's fast, damaging and relatively simple to carry out."
The Brazilian army have said they will respond to the most likely attacks but will not be able to provide complete protection.
Brazil has seen widespread protests about the expenses of the World Cup while many live in relative poverty, a possible incentive for the recent threats of cyber-attacks.
