Twitter has introduced new Early Bird account @earlybird for sharing news and promoting special time-bound deals, sneak-peeks and events. Basically, it is Twitter's own bargains alert service feed. One can expect to see deals about fashion, tech, travel and entertainment related stuff. Twitter's Early Bird account is yet another step along with Promoted Tweets to slowly roll out its advertising model for earning money.
Launched in partnership with select advertisers, these offers would be crafted only for the Twitter user base. The conditions of offers in terms of availability, price, product and others would rest entirely in the hands of advertisers. Only if you're following @earlybird account, you'll see the deals in your timeline. Since those updates about deals from International or U.S. focused brands will come via official Twitter account, there's no chance of hoax deals. Twitter will earn money 'through relationships with their advertisers'.
In the initial phase, the Early Bird account will tweet about deals limited to U.S. audience and country only. Over a period of time, Early Bird's reach will grow beyond the U.S. territory. Well, Twitter said the same about Local Trends but we haven't seen any addition to the list of countries and/or cities so far.
