A cyber attack on Twitter platform Tweetdeck has infiltrated several accounts.
The service was temporarily taken offline, with Tweetdeck later telling users it had fixed the problem and restored the app.
The coding vulnerability hit several high profile accounts including BBC Breaking News and labour leader Ed Miliband.
The attack was carried out through a "cross-site" scripting or "XSS" vulnerability and re-tweeted messages from several bogus identities.
Tweetdeck, which was acquired by Twitter in 2011, has been subject to similar attacks in the past.
