American teenager Jennine Lamere has created an award-winning software designed to prevent people finding out storylines of their favourite television shows and films on Twitter.
The 17-year-old, who had grown tired of spoilers, claimed the 'best in show' accolade at a hackathon in Boston.
Her code blocks tweets which mention pre-set keywords. She only came up with the idea the night before the tournament, and it took her 10 hours and 150 lines of code to complete.
Now she plans to develop her plug-in Twivo commercially.
Twivo acts as an extension of the Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers and users can state the keywords they want to block and for how long.
