Organisers of one of the world's biggest hacker gatherings have asked federal agents to stay away from it.
The Def Con convention starts on August 1 in Las Vegas, where 15,000 hackers will discuss security issues and showcase their coding ability.
Jeff Moss, founder of the hacking conference, posted the request on the Def Con website.
He said: "Our community operates in the spirit of openness, verified trust, and mutual respect."
But in the wake of ongoing revelations about the NSA's Prism programme, Mr Moss added: "It would be best for everyone involved if the feds called a 'timeout' and not attend Def Con this year.
"A little bit of time and distance can be a healthy thing, especially when emotions are running high."
