Police to Scour Social Networking Sites For Crimes
Detectives will be trained up to use social networks to investigate criminals and try to uncover potential evidence, it has emerged this morning.
A BBC news report stated that the National Police Improvement Agency or NPIA will be incorporating social network sifting into its training.
Detectives will scour Facebook and Twitter updates for information such as clues to where a suspect might be, as well as finding potential witnesses or people who they might want to question.
The new training measures will go further than mere social networking sites, however, also covering issues such as how to gather intelligence from computers or smartphones.
