New virus warning

New virus warning

Web security companies have warned of a new email worm hitting inboxes. The worm has been named W32/Braid.A or I-Worm.Bridex and as a variant of an existing worm, FunLove (although, perhaps, less catchily named).

The worm is usually sent in an email message without a subject, and is contained in an attachment called readme.exe.

However, the good news is that it appears to be an unsophisticated bit of code. Existing anti-virus software should easily be able to cope with the virus, and a patch is available from Microsoft.
