The messaging app 'Yo' which soared to the top of the app download charts has been hit by a hack.
The app, which is used to send the word 'Yo' to contacts, has been branded pointless, yet raised $1m in investment.
Three students discovered the flaw in the app.
They said: "We can get any Yo user's phone number (I actually texted the founder, and he called me back).
"We can spoof yos from any users, and we can spam any user... We could also send any Yo user a push notification with any text we want (though we decided not to do that)."
Problems similar to this have hit other apps such as Snapchat and Tinder over the past few months.
Mr Arbel, the creator of Yo said: "Some of the stuff has been fixed and some we are still working on.
"We are taking this very seriously."
