Israel has announced today that it has officially banned any imported iPads from entering the country and is also threatening to confiscate the device from passengers at the airport.
A spokesperson from Israel's communication ministry said that the wi-fi on the device was incompatible with their own wireless standard. They have said that the iPad could damage the domestic wireless network.
The spokesperson also stated that the iPad may not work with the European network as a whole and therefore other countries may have to take similar precautions.
This announcement has come following Apple's statement earlier this week that they would be delaying the roll out of the iPad after US demand far exceeded expectations.
Release date for the UK was originally planned for the end of this month, however Steve Jobs has this week stated that his company would not start accepting pre-orders until May 10th from the British market.
So far only a wi-fi version of the device has been released, however a 3G model is expected to go on sale in the not-to-distant future.
