Iran Could Restrict Internet Access

Internet users in Iran could see access to international sites such as YouTube and Google blocked due to government efforts to manage the internet.

The Iranian government insists a 'national internet', currently used for domestic sites including banks and government departments, would improve data security and browsing speeds.

However, critics have warned that it could give the government the green light to forbid access to overseas sites, halting users' ability to share information online.
