McKinnon loses extradition appeal

Gary McKinnon, the UK hacker who broke into US military networks has lost his latest High Court bid to avoid extradition to the US.

The 43 year old, from north London, suffers from aspergers syndrome and was said to be looking for aliens.

The US wants to McKinnon for breaking into US military computers in 2001 and 2002.

Mr McKinnon admits hacking into the systems but denies it was malicious. He also denies causing damage costing $800,000 (£487,000).

He has been refused by the home secretary and director of public prosecutions to try him in the UK.
