Google chief executive Eric Schmidt has attempted to set the record straight on Chrome OS and Android at the Web 2.0 summit in San Francisco.
According to US reports, Schmidt said the coming Chrome operating system (OS) is being developed for devices with physical keyboards, while the Android OS is for touch devices.
Despite the release of the Apple's iPad since Chrome OS was announced in July 2009, Schmidt confirmed Chrome OS is still aimed at netbooks, laptops and even desktops as a fast booting, secure environment for running web-based applications.
