Google is rumoured to launch itself into the world of fashion, with the announcement of an online designer outlet named Boutiques.com.
The new business venture will be run through the recently acquired Like.com, the search engine giant's new operation will allow users to easily click onto a partner brand's online store via the new fashion portal, or to a online retailer selling a desired product.
Styleite.com reports that among the 19 big name designers set to launch portals with the new site are: Sarah Jessica Parker, Erin Fetherstone, Oscar de la Renta, Tony Burch and Katie Holmes.
The site looks likely to be launched during a chic fashion event put on by the search engine giant in New York on Wednesday.
According to insiders the invitation to the event says: "High Tech Fuses With High Fashion."
Boutiques.com is expected to rival to eBay's own fashion website: Fashion Outlet.
