Google is giving it's Blogger platform a transformation with a new user interface, adding new features throughout this year, the company has revealed.
2010 was a big year for Blogger with masses of new features like a template designer, comment spam filter and real-time stats being introduced to the popular blogging stage, according to a post made by Blogger product manager Chang Ki.
Google's Chang Ki also revealed that Blogger had established itself as one of the biggest blogging platforms and the sixth largest website in the world.
The search engine giant said that Blogger users had made more than half a billion blog posts which were read by 400 million active readers worldwide. Google also revealed that more than half a trillion words have been written on Blogger which is equivalent to 5.3 million novels.
The next generation Blogger user interface, which will be previewed by Google at the ongoing South by South West conference, is based on the Google Web Toolkit, which offers the latest in web technology.
"We'll also be showcasing our new content discovery feature that lets you uncover interesting and related content based on the topics of the blog you're currently reading," Kim wrote on the blog post.
