Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerbeg, has had his personal social media accounts hacked. For a short time this weekend his Twitter and Pinterest pages were compromised.
Hacking group, Ourmine, claimed responsibility and boasted about the alleged hacks.
A message posted on Zuckerberg’s compromised Twitter account read: "Hey we got access to your Twitter & Instagram & Pinterest, we are just testing your security, please direct message us."
Twitter reacted to the hack by temporarily suspending Zuckerberg’s account before reinstating it with the tweet deleted.
The hackers claimed that they found his password in the details of stolen LinkedIn accounts which were leaked online last month.
It appeared Zuckerberg may have used the same password across multiple accounts.
Hackers also claimed that Zuckerberg’s Instagram account had been accessed, however a spokesperson for Facebook said: "No Facebook systems or accounts were accessed. The affected accounts have been re-secured."
