Deliverd announces plans to feed the nation
News has just landed that Sheffield lunch delivery start-up, Deliverd, plans to begin rolling out its healthy meals across the country.
Deliverd sends healthy and tasty meals to your door for £5.50 or less. But it’s a fresh concept; meal prep and packaging is taken care of by kitchens with time on their hands.
Restaurants, cafés and pubs in the area utilise any spare time by lending Deliverd a hand. This community-focused model gives local kitchens extra profit whilst minimising cost and waste for Deliverd. All meals arrive in biodegradable wool-cool packaging, so they’re eco-friendly, too.
Currently, Sheffield is the only city served on a day-by-day basis. Customers choose dishes online which are then delivered to home or office by bike.
If you live further afield, Deliverd offers their ‘Chef’s Box’, a carefully curated selection of dishes delivered to your door once or twice a week, fortnightly or monthly.
But plans have been announced to bring the economic takeaway model to the masses and develop a presence nationally.
Streamlining the service is no mean feat, though, so keep your eye out for progress reports.Deliverd began in March 2015, after founders Paul Rawlings and James Grant won funding from an EU accelerator course.
