This year, City University London will launch its first post graduate courses in cyber security and data science.
The course is said to fill skills gaps in the technology industry.
Dr Artur d'Avila Garcez, reader in neural-symbolic computing at City University London, said: "We saw that there was interest in industry for so-called data scientists.
"The data science role needs to be specialist and it cannot be done by the IT guy or business analyst."
The course will have three core foundations - machine learning, high performance computing and data visualisation. There will also be modules to introduce students to computer science and big data, particularly for those from different backgrounds, who perhaps aren't so familiar with the industry.
The new MSc cyber security will also begin at the University in September. The course will add to the University's cyber security centre and will see teaching added to the research of cyber security
