British Man's Creation Wins Imitation Contest

A chatbot named Mitsuku has won a contest to see if computers can successfully imitate humans.

The Loebner competition puts artificially intelligent programs under the spotlight to see if they can convince judges that they are human by answering questions via an instant message system.

British man Steve Worswick, who wrote Mitsuku, bagged £2,500 for his winning creation.

The contest was established by US entrepreneur Hugh Loebner and has enjoyed a rise in popularity.
