A million-strong botnet army targeted the charity behind the Raspberry Pi.
A huge DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack was launched on the Raspberry Pi Foundation's website.
The organisation released a statement revealing its site had been crushed by network traffic.
The statement read: "We are being DDoS'd at the moment - very sorry if you can't see the website. If it goes on, we will try to get more capacity.
"For those interested, this one is quite hardcore - we are seeing an SYN flood from a botnet that seems to have about a million nodes."
The foundation's website recovered the following day, but the assault highlighted the fact that the type of victim is now more diverse.
