Apple helping to tackle asthma

Tueo Health is a singapore-based company, who created an app to help parents monitor the symptoms of asthma

Apple’s recent purchase of Tueo Health company have sparked rumours about the tech giant’s moves into health tech.

Tueo Health is a singapore-based company, who created an app to help parents monitor the symptoms of asthma - it is this applications that is rumoured to be on the new Apple Watch.

Tueo Health became a company to take notice of, after they raised over $1 million in seed funding, whilst working on applications for mobile to help with user health. The app works with commercial breathing sensors and sends alerts to parents if their child’s breathing changes at night.

This doesn't come as a surprise as the tech giant has been focusing on the health of their consumers. With features like step - tracking and heart rate it almost makes sense for the new Apple Watch to have an even better health benefit.

Asthma affects 235 million people worldwide, with hundreds of thousands of asthma related deaths each year. Therefore, an app that is able to keep asthma under control by alerting the watch wearer when breathing is showing asthma symptoms, will be a key app for millions.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said that he thinks health care will be ‘Apple’s greatest contribution to mankind’. Health Tech is only going to get bigger for Apple and the latest purchase of this company is a step in the right direction.
